Mid-Back

People often times complain of tightness in their mid-back and feel like it needs to “pop”.  Well, the thoracic spine has lots of joints and ribs connecting to the spine, which can cause this region to get pretty stiff and tight.  We can also develop referral pains into the neck and arms, even some numbness/tingling, from dysfunctions in the thoracic spine.  Physical Therapists can help to get the spine and ribs moving properly to get you into a good posture, and work on appropriate exercises and stretches to restore mobility.  Helping to get this region moving appropriately and providing proper force translation through the spine can also help alleviate neck, shoulder, and low back pain.
